  • Parent or guardian must be present.
  • Only students attending the school district that is hosting the clinic, ages three through 18, can be seen. This should not replace any well child checkups at the pediatrician.
  • This setting, which has limited privacy, may not work well for children who resist shots or those with certain special needs. If the student is unable to receive shots, parents should follow up with their pediatrician.
  • This clinic is being offered as a community service event and should not replace a visit to your pediatrician. Staff and supplies are limited so the clinic may be discontinued if supplies or time runs out. We cannot guarantee that everyone will be seen.

NISD honors teachers, staff at 2024 Inspire Celebration
An NISD retiree celebrated crossing the stage at district's Inspire Celebration

Northwest ISD announced its Teachers of the Year and honored the top educators and staff across the district at its annual Inspire Celebration on Thursday, April 11, showcasing the tremendous teaching talent and staff support throughout the district.

With a strong field of educators competing for the overall district teaching honors, Monique Lawson of Schluter Elementary School earned the Elementary Teacher of the Year honor, while Leann Shelley of Medlin Middle School earned Secondary Teacher of the Year recognition. Read more about NISD's 2024 Teachers of the Year by clicking here.

Additionally, all 34 Northwest ISD schools named their Exemplar Educators of the Year, honoring the district’s top teachers by campus for the 2023-2024 academic year. Northwest ISD’s Exemplar Educators were selected following a rigorous process on their campus that evaluated their leadership, motivation and effectiveness in the classroom.

The Inspire Celebration also acknowledged the district’s Employees of the Year, retirees and some of Northwest ISD’s longest-serving staff members celebrating their major work anniversary milestones. Photographs of the ceremony can be found on the district's Flickr page

Transfer application window for 2024-2025 open through May 15

Families interested in requesting a campus transfer for their students for the 2024-2025 school year can do so until 5 p.m. Monday, May 15, through an online transfer form. All transfer requests are considered on a case-by-case basis, as each student’s request is unique.

Northwest ISD allows families to request transfers to another campus for the next school year during a window that opens annually on April 1. Transfers requests are subject to the capacity of a campus, as several schools are closed to transfers because they are near or over their designed student enrollment.
